「梅花」颱風已於下午2時轉為中颱！氣象局表示，最快明週日（11）清晨至上午間發布海上颱風警報。氣象局局長鄭明典稍早也於臉書發文，「梅花颱風越靠越近、越長越大」。

梅花颱風強度漸增，下午2時升格為中度颱風，以每小時11公里速度向北北西進行。中央氣象局局長鄭明典在臉書發文，第12號颱風「梅花」，越靠越近、越長越大，現在已經是個中度颱風！還好颱風也沒有衝太快，給大家一個平安的中秋假期。

氣象局預報員陳伊秀表示，預估明週日，也就是中秋假期最後一天清晨至上午之間，就有可能發布海上颱風警報。至於有沒有陸警機率？得視其路徑是否再往西偏（更靠近台灣），七級風暴風半徑是否持續擴大到200公里才能定論。

下週一至週二（12~13日）「梅花」颱風會來到台灣東部外海附近，因為沒有明顯的導引氣流，速度變慢，近乎滯留，得等到14號星期三通過石垣島後腳程才會加快。不過其外圍雲系，預計從週日開始到下週四都會為台灣天氣帶來影響。北部及東半部地區有局部短暫陣雨，其中北部及東北部降雨較為明顯，山區及基隆北海岸有局部大雨發生的機率，其他地區仍為多雲到晴，午後有局部短暫雷陣雨。

「天氣風險WeatherRisk」粉專表示，受到梅花颱風外圍環流偏北風影響，明星期天到下週三（14日）之間，迎風面的台灣北部、東北部地區以及中部山區有陣雨，尤其北部、東北部山區有局部較大累積雨量，可能達到大雨或豪雨等級，提醒這些地區的朋友要多留意。
