第33屆金曲獎歌王之爭激烈，評審投票第3輪僅剩崔健和黃宣，評審團總召阿弟仔日前表示，一位是出色有才華的新生代，一個具有時代代表性，最後考量整個華語市場影響力，黃宣才以1票之差輸給崔健。金曲獎無畏國籍考量，將華語男歌手獎頒給崔健，也獲廣大網友讚賞「金曲獎格局大了」。

崔健是金曲獎33屆以來首位大陸歌王，過往對岸獲獎佼佼者，包括那英以《心酸的浪漫》拿下2001年金曲獎最佳女歌手及最佳作詞人、李榮浩2014年以《模特》榮頒最佳新人。

60歲的崔健被封為「大陸搖滾之父」，此次封王的專輯《飛狗》，獲不少音樂人高度肯定，資深製作人凃惠源認為崔健突破既定印象及包袱，「不僅趕上現代聽感，聲場也非常前衛」，讓人有非常驚豔的衝擊。音樂人李百罡欣賞崔健充滿自我風格的唱法咬字，「靈魂的能量令人可敬可畏。」DJ馬克也盛讚出道38年的崔健仍擁精湛歌藝，創作功力優異。

根據《北京青年報》報導，大陸聽眾對於崔健的印象多半是憤世嫉俗、反抗等，不過《飛狗》問世後，不少人認為崔健似乎變得更隨和，也不輕易憤怒了。對此崔健不認同，他認為人都有多面，不可能只有一種樣子，且總會有人利用你的這一面去攻擊你另一面，想法依舊獨特。
